Between Pen and Paper...

Well, looks like I gave in to the pressure of the spammage, and updated a story. Not only updated, but completed a story! I also posted it up on fanfiction.net, for completism's sake.

Now I feel a little less guilty for leaving it so long. Oh, and it ended up being 11.4k words long. Oops. >.>

I've made the decision to start a new blog over at blogger.com. The main reason is this one has become more orientated towards my personal life and I want one to focus on my writing. That ranges from my journalism to my fiction. So, I'll be keeping that strictly public, and probably keeping this one for my friends list only. Don't worry, I won't forget about this one. :)

The other reason for the second blog is the opportunity to make money with it. Always a good thing, right? :)

As you can tell, I have a new layout! I was getting bored of the old one and I liked the look of this one. But, I can't customise it much, annoyingly. I wanted to change the font and the colours, but it wouldn't let me. Ah well, I'll use this for the time being. :)

Oh, and I changed my mood theme too. :P

So I had a peek around my website today just to check everything was okay, and there were a few messages in the guest book I hadn't read yet. Most of them were the usual fare; nice, complimentary and polite. But then there was this one... and I shall quote it so you can see it in all its glory, and thus judge for yourself.

Truly, this is a monumentally motivational and encouraging comment, yes? Apart for that, I don't even have any Buffy fanfictions on that site, those were all stored on my old one, and I've long abandoned those. :o

I just despair sometimes. *shakes head*

I'm doing an assignment on Plutarch at the moment, or rather his Parallel Lives work, but during my extra research I came across this extract from him. And I rather like it. Optimistic, yet not too cheesy. :)

"The soul, being eternal, after death is like a caged bird that has been released. For those interested, Moralia is the collective name for the multitude of essays he wrote during his life. Oh, and Plutarch was a Roman historian of Greek descent, who lived from 46-120 CE.

Now back to my assignment. *grumbles*

Since it's been the Tokyo Game Show and Blizzcon over the past few days, I've been a busy girl! Sifting through all that news made my eyes hurt. Buuuut, I wrote up some articles but, more importantly, I finished a review I'd planned out early!

So, I reviewed DOFUS. "Huh!?" I hear you cry. Yes, I know, I hadn't heard of it either, but it cropped up in the news that they'd had 10 million players since release so it piqued my interest. And since it's in the news, it seemed like a good time to write an article on it. So I downloaded it and played for a while.

This is a review on Leebot's "new" story on fanfiction.net by the ever so enlightened zenihua. I think Bryan may just have been going for this reaction though. Heh. Considering his author's note, that is.

Suffice it to say, I've been busy lately. Very. And I've not felt much like writing. Anyone who talks to me knows this. And, yes Bryan knew this too. And yet he writes something like that? That's a low blow. I noticed there was a review there last night that was actually in my defence, and yet it's gone today. Gee, I wonder why. 

I really shouldn't have to explain myself about why I've not been writing. It's fan fiction for goodness' sake. I write because I love writing, not because people are constantly harassing me, not because I'm looking for approval, not because I want to be idolised by everyone. I write because I have a passion for it. As such, I write things that inspire me. Lately, that hasn't been much because of things going on in my own life, that Leebot was very much aware of, and the only things I've been able to do are tidbits of original stories.

I'm not going to go into the whole history of why this is happening now, it's between me and Leebot. But, I will say... I've had enough. I've pretty much given up on fanfiction.net anyway. I don't want to see any more swipes. It's over.

I've turned off IP logging for the purpose of this. Not that I would have paid any heed to it anyway, that would have been against the whole spirit of the thing...

So it seems I've been talked into writing reviews for a magazine. Gee, I wonder by who? :P

Destiny Awaits - Chapter Three

Anyway, I doubt I'll get to writing anything for a while again, not until after I get back from my trip... where I'll be doing more important things. *grins*

I got an e-mail some days ago from someone who had read Giving In asking if they could translate it and put it up on Yamibo. I thought it'd be nice if people who couldn't read English had the chance to read it, so I agreed. And having it reach the folks on Yamibo isn't a bad thing, after all. So I'd like to thank "Wandering" for their work on that.

The first chapter has been translated and can be found here but you'll need an account to see it. I only just managed to create one. :P There's six pages of comments so far but I haven't been able to understand them particularly well. If anyone could help with that, I'd appreciate it. :)

I suppose I'd better get the fourth chapter out sometime soon too, it's long overdue. I was thinking of working on the final part of my Halloween Special first though. At this rate, it might be out in time for next Halloween. Heh. :P

Firstly, oh my goodness, two updates in, technically, the same day! What the heck is wrong with me? :P Secondly, I'm so glad I finally got this done, it's been haunting me, so it has! It's been half-finished for months now and even though I've lost all motivation to write this, I'm determined to get it done nonetheless.

On another note, I've been surviving on two hours of sleep per night because my mind/body has decided it doesn't want any for some reason. But it has meant I've gotten some writing done so perhaps that's what I needed after all. ;)

Anyway, here we go, the next chapter of my Kannazuki no Miko fan fiction.

I finally got it written! Hurrah! Sorry it's taken so long folks. Phew. I started writing this chapter because winter_solace18  needed cheering up one day. I hope this helps, even if it is a bit late. Thanks to Bryan for betaing this so quickly even when I don't have the time to do the same for you, you really are a gem. :D Oh, and I really wanted to write the next scene that I'd intended for this chapter but it would have been far too long then. I'll just begin the next chapter with it, or perhaps skip it altogether, even though I want to write it. :P

Destiny Awaits - Chapter Two.

It's taken me a little while to get this posted up, I really should have done it days ago when maarikaaa first told me about it so people could go comment on her website. This one is taken from a scene in Chapter Two of my fan fiction, Giving In. If you don't remember it, it's the shower scene. Heh. You'll see when you look at the picture. :P

So I managed to pull myself away from WoW today and get some writing done. In fact, I only spent about half an hour on the game and that was whilst I was waiting for something. So I think I exercised a great deal of restraint there. Heh. I finished writing my part of the collaborative fan fiction Leebot and I have been working on. I think it turned out rather well, especially for our first time co-authoring something. So that's on FF.net for your perusal.
