I actually set up this preview some time ago but I forgot to post it up here... or anywhere really. Not much point in having a preview if you tell no one about it, right?

Here's the summary I put on the website:

"Pembleton Sixth Form College for Young Ladies has stood on the edge of Clapham Wood for over a century. When Lauren attends the school for the first time, she imagines a life of rules and rigidity. Little does she know that she is about to unearth secrets about the school, the woods and herself."

The working title is 'The Clapham Wood Mystery' but I may change that when the novel is nearer completion.

'Nana the Dwarf' brought it to my attention earlier today (thanks Nana) that Giving In had been plagiarised by a livejournal poster by the name of raeneph  (also known as namwan ) who had written a story for a completely different fandom. Just to remind people, this is the smut scene from the first chapter of Giving In.




This was posted way back in 2007. The last update (the final chapter) was last year. Apparently, this new story was posted at the beginning of this year. Here's the scene in question:




Look familiar? Yeah, I thought so too! The names are obviously different and some of the descriptive terms have been switched around but it's obviously my writing. What really bugged me about it was the way she just so easily and happily accepted credit for something that wasn't hers, as seen in both her notes and replies to feedback.

 Firstly, I just wanted to let people know that I've posted one of the requested stories up on fanfiction.net. I decided to tackle ifuritka 's suggestion first. I must confess to it seeming the easiest and hence the reason I chose it. >.>

I decided to change the style of my journal as well. The previous one was too narrow and, while the effect was pretty, it wasn't at all practical. I couldn't even read some particularly long comment chains. :o

Restrictions:

• Anything romantic will have to be centred around Shizuru and Natsuki (I'm very set in my ways, I'm afraid :P)
• It has to be Mai HiME obviously (see above)
• If there's something that absolutely must be included in the one shot, let me know what that is specifically (otherwise, artistic license!)
• While I don't mind AU, I won't write OOC (so if something doesn't fit their characters, it's not going to happen)

Aside from that, I'm open to everything. :)

I've actually felt like writing again in recent weeks. I wrote up plot ideas, character outlines, etc., for an original story but I've also been watching animé lately, so it reminded me of the fandoms I used to follow. This is mainly because I can't seem to find an animé I can really get into (particularly one with an actual yuri pairing . yes, actual, and not imagined!). So it had me wondering whatever happened to the Mai HiME Destiny light novel. Apparently it has 12 chapters and when I was into the fandom a few years back only the sixth had been translated. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any translations but it did remind me of those characters I loved.

And, so, I decided on continuing with my Destiny fiction, and I also started a sequel to my Halloween Special. I know I said I wouldn't but I just couldn't help myself. :P

What's up with the formatting on fanfiction.net, by the way. It doesn't matter if I try to upload a document as a "story" or "docx" file, it always screws up the formatting in some way. It's trying to put me off, I swear!

 I was recently asked about a manga called Himegami no Miko. As I didn't know anything about it I looked into it and it seems that Kaishaku, the people behind Kannazuki no Miko, are working on it. From the artwork it seems fairly clear that the two central characters are Chikane and Himeko, in some form or another. I haven't been able to find too much out about it yet and I've been trying to track down the first chapter at least but had no luck. From what I can tell, it seems to be in a similar vein to KyoSora - i.e, that it's an alternate universe. Thankfully they've done away with the superfluous boring characters this time. And even better, no mecha in sight! There are also rumours floating around that an anime is in the works, so fingers crossed!

Well, looks like I gave in to the pressure of the spammage, and updated a story. Not only updated, but completed a story! I also posted it up on fanfiction.net, for completism's sake.

Now I feel a little less guilty for leaving it so long. Oh, and it ended up being 11.4k words long. Oops. >.>

I've made the decision to start a new blog over at blogger.com. The main reason is this one has become more orientated towards my personal life and I want one to focus on my writing. That ranges from my journalism to my fiction. So, I'll be keeping that strictly public, and probably keeping this one for my friends list only. Don't worry, I won't forget about this one. :)

The other reason for the second blog is the opportunity to make money with it. Always a good thing, right? :)

As you can tell, I have a new layout! I was getting bored of the old one and I liked the look of this one. But, I can't customise it much, annoyingly. I wanted to change the font and the colours, but it wouldn't let me. Ah well, I'll use this for the time being. :)
